The Rotary Club of Mayagüez has been a Friend of the Mayagüez Children’s Library in past years, but this year the president, Christa von Hillebrandt-Andrade, has found a new and most welcome way to help us – by honoring the guest speakers at their weekly Tuesday night meetings by donating a book to the MCL in their name.
The first book, My Island and I by Alfonso Silva Lee, illustrated by Alexis Lugo. was donated in appreciation of presentation of Jose D. Figueroa and Jose A. Roura Gil de Lamadrid from Banco Popular on “Retirement Income Solutions and Long Term Care Planning”. Seen in the first picture on the slider are (left to right): Jose A. The title of the second book we will receive is Mi Dragón y Yo, David Biedrzycki author and illustrator. This book will honor Luisa Anglade who will be talking about “Resilience: Transformation of Pain and Despair into Movement and Inspiration.”
Karlos Miranda Garcés, UPRM student and founder of WATRIC Energy Resources, a startup for sustainable energy and water solutions receiving the book that will be donated to MCL in his name.
